The life of a glamour goddess ... that seductive ideal had always captivated Laetitia Casta. Even before the notion of conquering the fashion world occurred to this native Norman, she'd wanted a theatrical life. Laetitia has everything...charm, humor, health, freshness... Her secret ? "None. I'm just lucky to not gain weight and live a sane life". In only two years, the one who wanted to be teacher, singer, actress and veterinarian has become the most popular new top model. Since then, she's done over sixty covers and countless editorial pages as well as work for Gaultier, Guess?, Ralph Lauren, Fleur Interdit de Givenchy, Allure de Chanel , Pantene Pro-V, Victoria’s Secret, Sports Illustrated and l'Oreal. She appeared on the covers of Elle, Mademoiselle, Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Marie-Claire, TopModel, Depeche Mode, Photo and Rolling Stone. Back in the summer of 1993 on a beach in Lumio, in Corsica, a booker from the Madison agency, "spying" this five foot seven and a half inch dark-haired Venus amid mere mortal tourists, slipped his card to her parents and suggested their daughter step in front of the cameras. Skeptical at first, they eventually caved in to Laetitia's pleas. They asked her in return to be herself and to respect others. The day of her first test shots, well known photograph Satoshi Saikusa spotted her at the studio and booked her on the spot. Since then she has grown up a lot : " I have gained more assurance of myself, I am more independant now and I know where I am going." And going she is... everywhere from Iceland to South Africa. She's been to the Bahamas, Kenya, Mexico but it's in the United State where she is the most in demand. Her carreer as a professional poser seemed inevitable. There was of course, the matter of the of her constant dress-ups: "As a little girl, I would often wear two different outfits a day," she recalls. "And my mother, she went crazy with all the laundry. But you know, I think clothes are so feminine, like lipstick." She lives at home in Paris with her parents and two sibs. Her few indulgences include CDs, rollerblades, and afternoons of go-carting with her brother. When she goes at home at night she likes to dance alone along with disco music.
